JoAnn Gemmill

JoAnn was born on October 9, 1935, to Francis and Henry Roberts in Wapato, Washington and spent her formative years on a farm nearby. She is the tenth child in a family of eleven. She loved her brothers and sisters and enthusiastically joined in family activities that included camping, hiking, fishing and horseback riding.

In 1949 her family moved to Renton, Washington, and JoAnn graduated from Renton High School. She attended college and technical schools until landing her first job as a medical laboratory technician in Seattle. For the next forty years, she worked in various positions in the health care field.

In 1996 she retired from her job and married Jack Gemmill. They lived in Edmonds, Washington in the summer and enjoyed winters in Palm Springs, California. They loved time spent boating, traveling the world and golfing…always golfing…

Jack passed away in 2012 and following this, Jo moved to Gig Harbor to be near family. She enjoyed Gig Harbor till her death On August 30, 2026.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 11th, at 9:30 AM. Beck’s Tribute Center and Funeral Home. 405 Fifth Ave S. Edmonds, WA. 98020 and 11AM burial Holyrood Cemetery, Shoreline, WA
