John Robert Felton

John was born in Spokane and had fond memories of spending his early years there, surrounded by extended family. His family later settled in Anacortes, where he graduated from high school. In 1966, he graduated from the Coast Guard Academy and began a 23 year career in the Coast Guard. John was stationed in Hawaii, New York City, Sturgeon Bay, WI, Long Beach, CA, and Seattle. He then worked for Foss Maritime and finished his working career with Washington State Maritime Co-op. John loved to play. He filled his days with family time, fishing, playing cards and games, golfing, watching sports, and working in his vege garden. He was a happy, kind, fun-loving man with a wonde laugh and a big smile who will be much missed by all who knew him, but especially by his wife, Jo Anne, his children (daughters Laura Condylis and Beth McKelvey, sons Scott and Robert) and their spouses, his seven grandchildren, his mother, Loretta Felton, sister Mary Sikkema and her family. His Coast Guard friends, golfing and fishing buddies, high school and work friends also brought much joy to his life.
