Josephine Mapes, 76, of Marysville, formerly of Everett, Washington passed away surrounded by her family on February 10, 2015. Josephine was born in Farmington, West Virginia on May 16, 1938, to the late Louis Stetz Sr. and Beatrice (Konopko) Stetz. Jo Beth as she was fondly called, participated in many activities in her youth. She played the drums in the school band and graduated for Mannington High School, class of 1959. Josephine was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed arts and crafts and baking. She had a beautiful voice, and loved to sing in the church choir. Josephine is survived by her sisters, Genevieve Conn, of Morgantown, West Virginia, Frances Stetz, of Oroville, WA, Viola Dowd and husband, Bill, of Oroville, WA; her daughters, Bea Jones (Brad) of Snohomish, WA; Cherie Roeder (Scott) of Snohomish, WA; and Kimberly Dau (Richard) of Monroe, WA. Josephine had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nu merous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Stetz, Jr. and sister, Agnes Stetz. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. A Graveside service will be held at 2:30p.m., on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Holyrood Cemetery, 205 NE 205th St., Shoreline, WA. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
