Karen Diane Wischer

Feb 1, 1944 — May 28, 2014

Karen was a beloved wife, mom, and grandma, with a servants heart that blessed the people around her. She was always an enthusiastic cheerleader for others and the loudest laughter in any room she was in. She adored (and was adored by) her family and friends, and she left us all a beautiful legacy of love and peace. She especially loved her grandchildren, and her house is full of pictures and memories with them. Life is made up of so many ordinary moments, and she lived those well. She was never one to keep and fill a bucket list, but rather lived each day joyfully. She was an eager optimist who always found the best in others. She listened compassionately, loved faithfully, and spoke truth with kindness. She loved to study the Bible and share her love of Jesus with the people around her. One of her highlights each week was leading a Bible study for women. She also treasured her bridge days with dear friends, and visits with loved ones far and near. She had fond memories of working as a registered nurse, first in Fargo, North Dakota, then later at a clinic in Edmonds, Washington. After a 10-month battle with cancer, she passed from this life into Heaven on May 28, 2014 at age 70, where she awaits our homegoings one day. Knowing her, she will be the first at the gates to hug us, kiss us and welcome us home! She is survived by her husband Wain, daughters Keri and Kristi, sons-in-law Andrew and Steve, and seven treasured grandchildren. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also , and he praises her Proverbs 31:28
