Laura Christine Dreis
Feb 5, 1917 — Apr 28, 2013
Laura passed away on April 28, 2013 in Mukilteo, WA. She was born in Rogers, North Dakota to Torwell and Ruth (Wakefield) Undem. She was the oldest of eight children. Laura married Gregory (deceased 1993) in 1938. They were married for 55years. They owned a Dairy Queen, farmed, and she was a seamstress for a group that made the ski jackets and pants for the U.S. Olympic Ski Team in the 1964 Olympics at Innsbruck, Austria. Her hands were always busy knitting, crocheting, sharing her home and made wonde meals for family and friends. She loved pinochle, skip-bo and would drop everything to play a few hands of cards. She played a big part in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her son Galen (Carla) Dreis of Mukilteo and daughter Loretta (Erland) Pananen of North Pole, Alaska; grandchildren: Annie (Richard) Bibby, Debby Spidell, Sharon (Brian) Werk, Jake (Katie) Pananen, and Max Pananen; great grandchildren Lauren (Jakob) Kleparek, Kyle and Trent Spidell; and soon-to-be great-great granddaughter Lily Jean Kleparek. She is also survived by her brothers, Earl (Alice) Undem and Duane Undem; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Dreis, Myrtle Undem, Helen Undem, and Barbara Undem; and many nieces and nephews. Laura is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Orville, Freeman, Harold, Roy, and Ralph, and grandson Dunton. Rest in Peace sweet Laura. You are missed more then you know. You touched all of our lives in so many wonde ways. Rosary will be said on Thurs. May 9 at 5:30pm at Becks Funeral Home, 405 5th Ave. S in Edmonds. The Funeral Mass is Friday May 10 at 10:30am at St. John Mission, 829 3rd St., Mukilteo, WA. Private interment will be at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline, Washington. A special thanks to all her caregivers at A Better Living and her Providence Hospice team. Remembrances can be made to: Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish, 2731 Wetmore Ave. Suite 500, Everett, WA 98201.
