Lila Houser, a long-time Rentonresident died peacefully onSeptember 30, 2017, with her family by her side. She was born in Seattle in 1922 toSwedish parents. Lila grew upprimarily in Vancouver, BC with her aunt following thedeath of her mother in 1928. She returned t ,o Seattle when she was 17 and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Lila is survive d by her daughter, Cheryl Houser .65ptand her husband, Dennis Wackerbarth; her son Paul (Bud) Houser, Jr. and his wife Amy; and her five grandchildren, Ryan, Cora and Matt Houser and Joel and Jesse Wackerbarth. Lila was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Paul Houser, and their son, Patrick. ,In her twenties, Lila attended business school and worked at t ,he King County Courthouse. She , moved to Renton in 1953 after ,marrying Paul. Lila loved to cook, entertain, and spend timewith her family and frie nds. Lila was very creative and enjoyed sewing and arts and crafts. She also worked for many years in the fabric department at Frederick Nelson at Southcenter. ,Lila served on the AdvisoryBoard and volunteered for the Renton (Kiwanis) Clothes Bankfor over 30 years. She also volunteered for 20+ years at Valley Medical Centers Flower Shop. Lila was loved and will be missed by many. A Funeral Service with Gathering will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017, at 11:00 am atSt. Anthony Catholic Church, 314 S. 4th St., Renton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Renton Kiwanis Clothes Bank, PO Box 55, Renton, WA 98057.
