Linda Anne Leyda
Feb 11, 1939 — Oct 2, 2016
Linda Anne Schroeder was born February 11, 1939, to Hugh and Helen Schroeder. She grew up in Richmond Beach and was a graduate of Ballard High School. She passed away October 2, 2016. She survived by her husband Walt, to whom she was married for 59 years. They spent most of their married life in Edmonds, where they raised their two children. She is survived by her daughter Lori Matsui (husband Stan), and son Robb Leyda (wife Irene), and six grandchildren; Donny, David, Sarah, Steven, Mark, and Christopher. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Malouf (husband Bob), of Phoenix, Arizona. Friendly, engaging and quick to laugh, Linda was a perfect fit in the Pioneer Girl program and as a camp counselor for Berean Bible Church, where she was a charter member. She also served in a prison ministry, where her kindness and empathy would profoundly influence incarcerated women. She deserved a gold medal in gift giving, package wrapping, home dcor, generous family dinners, baby cuddling and praying for others. What we will long remember her for, and for which we will ever be grateful, is that she did all this in the power of Jesus. Her graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Washelli , 11220 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133. The memorial service will be held 1:00 PM. Oct. 14 at Berean Bible Church, 2345 N. 185th St., Shoreline, reception following.
