Margaret Josephine Gibson

Margaret was born in Ireland – one of 7 children of George and Kate Gibson. A registered nurse with a degree in infectious diseases, she served for 4 years as a nurse/midwife officer in the Prince Mary’s Royal Air Force in England. She worked as a nurse in several countries – Ireland, Germany, Rhodesia, Australia and Canada. Moving to Seattle in 1970, she worked at the UW hospital for over 20 years, residing in Lake Forest Park. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Shoreline and volunteered as an Eucharistic minister to nursing homes and the homebound as Perpetual Adoration member. Her faith and devotion to the Rosary guided her life. Gibby led an interesting and long life filled with travel and worldwide adventures to over a dozen countries. She was proud of her heritage and retained her Irish citizenship. She was a stylish dresser and a strong-willed, independent woman. Since 2009 she has resided in Shoreline, WA at Anderson House/Laurel Cove and was happy there in their excellent care. She is survived by many relatives in Ireland and friends. She will be missed. On December 18, 2020 at 11am, a funeral mass will be held at St. Mark Parish.
