Marian Wecker Beyar

Aug 19, 1943 — May 19, 2012

Marian passed away peacefully on May 19, 2012 with her family at her side. She handled her long battle with cancer with courage and grace. Marian was the daughter of German immigrants George and Mary Wecker. She was born on August 20 th , 1943 and lived in Raymond, WA until she married James Beyar and moved to Seattle and then to Lynnwood. They had been married for 50 years in April! Marian enjoyed travelling and took numerous trips with a group of long-time friends, especially enjoying the trips to the Caribbean. She was well known for her potato salad, her baking, her sense of humor and ability to laugh with and listen to friends. Marian entertained their best friends and family every Christmas Eve, and whenever entertaining, there was always an overabundance of food. Marian was and avid gardener and worked at Wights Nursery for 20+ years where she was known for her strong work ethic. The job most important to her and the one she cherished the most was being a mother! Marian was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Aileen Cummins. She is survived by her loving husband, James Beyar, her daughter, Lisa Hickson, and by her nephews Jim Cummins, Bill Cummins and Rick Cummins (and wives their children). Marian never wanted a fuss made about her ever and thus did not want a funeral. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Announcement: In lieu of flowers or donations, Marian would want you to hug your children, your parents, your spouse, and your good friends and tell them you love them.
