Marilyn Emily Dilley

Marilyn Emily Dilley, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Garden of Eden Adult Family Home in Lynnwood. She was born in Seattle, Washington on October 9, 1926 to Ernest and Martha Eneberg. Marilyn grew up in the Green Lake area, attending Daniel Bagley Elementary and graduating from Lincoln High School in 1944. Growing up, Marilyn enjoyed swimming at Green Lake during the summer, and movies at the Arabian Theater with her friends on Saturday afternoons. Her parents, Ernest and Martha owned the University Bakery on University Way in Seattle where Marilyn worked during her high school years. She married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Bill Dilley, in 1944 when Bill, who was in the United States Navy during WWII, came home on leave. After the war, Bill and Marilyn eventually made their home in Shoreline, Washington, becoming the proud parents of Julie and Dana. Besides being with her family, Marilyn enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Tahoe, and Sun River with family and friends. She loved gardening, and had many hobbies including rug hooking and crocheting. Marilyn and Bill were married for 72 years. Marilyn is survived by her daughter Julie (Mark) Pinard; grandchildren Tatum Dilley, Christopher Pinard, April (Eric) Denley, Timothy (Candice) Pinard, Jordan Ross, and Cody Dilley; great-grandchildren Milo and John Denley, Abigail and Lillian Pinard, and Odin Dilley. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Martha, her husband Bill, and son Dana William Dilley. Marilyn’s funeral service will be Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:00am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 18033 15 Pl. NE, Shoreline, WA 98155. The rosary will be prayed before the funeral at 10:30am. A reception will follow the Mass. Memorials may be made in Marilyn’s name to her two favorite charities: Seattle Children’s’ Hospital, or Father Flanagan’s Boys’ Town.
