Marilyn Janet Hudson

MARILYN J. HUDSON February 16, 1929 -- October 15, 2020 Marilyn Hudson passed away peacefully in Edmonds, WA. She was a loving wife and mother, and an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother. Born in Camrose, Alberta, Canada, to Joseph and Neva Bell Roehlen, she grew up in Dayton, Columbia County, Washington, the third of four children. Her older brothers Basil and Burchard and a younger sister Virginia preceded her in death. When Marilyn was young she loved swimming and playing tennis, and while attending high school she worked for the Green Giant Company. Following World War II she married Richard Bateman and they moved to Berkeley, CA, while he was a student. They had two children Marc and Lisa. After returning to Dayton, Marilyn met and married Charles (Pat) Ridean and they moved to Seattle where Pat worked at Boeing. They had one daughter Patricia. Marilyn met and married David Hudson while working in Seattle. Their marriage would last 49 years before Dave's death in 2012. Following the birth of their two sons Eric and Darin they relocated to Gig Harbor, WA, where they resided for almost fifty years. During this time Dave worked as a manager at Boeing and she worked for an insurance agent. During her retirement Marilyn enjoyed solving jigsaw and crossword puzzles, gardening, bird watching and crafting. She is survived by her five children, six grandchildren (Chris, Josh, Kaylee, Gillian, Natalie and Katherine), one great-grandchild (Liam), three nephews (Steven, David and Brian) and two nieces (Susan and Marianne). Marilyn was truly a loving supporter of her family and an unselfish giving person to others.
