MaryAnn Hall, beloved mother, wife, teacher and friend passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve surrounded by her family. She was 71.Born in St. Paul, MN to George and Alice OConnor, MaryAnn was one of six children. They lived on a farm in Hastings and here she developed a very strong work ethic and love of family. She was very close to her siblings and was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marilyn and only brother, Jim.MaryAnn attended Winona State College, where her bachelor of science degree led her to teaching. She was an inspired and dedicated teacher, tirelessly engaging her elementary school students and co-workers with a love of learning and life.In 1965, MaryAnn married her sweetheart, Tom Hall, and they had two daughters. In 1978 they relocated to Edmonds, WA after discovering the joy of crab and salmon fishing during a trip out West.She taught at Assumption School and Holy Rosary School, and was a beloved and respected teacher in the community who had an impact on so many.MaryAnn was a talented artist whose watercolor paintings depicted the bright beauty of the world around her. She was very involved in the Edmonds arts community and enjoyed participating in arts fairs.Someone who loved to connect with people, always had a radiant smile, could knock you silly with her wit and sense of humor, MaryAnn was a treasure to all those who knew her. Her boundless activity astounded everyone, even as she struggled for years with the progression of Parkinsons disease. She was and brave and full of life.MaryAnn is survived by her husband, Tom, daughters Jody (Kelly Ring) of Seattle, WA and Laurie Krenz (Kevin) of Hudson, WI. She has two grandsons, Travis and Truman.The family is very grateful to the skilled nursing and support staff at Crista for the loving care MaryAnn received during her last few years.
