Mary Barbara Foster, 87, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at her home in Leavenworth, WA surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 11, 1922, in Hope, ID to James and Mary Campbell. She married Eugene C. Foster from Sandpoint, ID in 1942 and made their home in Shoreline, WA where they raised their six children. Mary was active in many rock clubs, including the Maplewood Rock Club, Washington State Mineral Council and the Friends of Mineralogy. For many years she volunteered at the Burke Museum on the UW campus. She also was an avid gardener, adventurer and traveled to many exotic places. The St. Lukes rosary group was where she found many friends and kept her spirit alive.She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, her parents, two sisters, and three brothers. She is survived by a sister, Trudy Castellano of Redwood City, CA; her loving children Michael, Walter and Edward Foster, Marieta Westbrook, Kathryn Foster and Joanne Brenner. She was blessed with six grandchildren; Yetsuh Frank, Tyler and Jason Foster, Becky and Allison Brenner and Alex and Marisa Foster and three great-grandchildren, Oliver and Eleanor Frank and Malia Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.A Holy Rosary will be held at Becks Funeral Home at 405 5 Ave. S in Edmonds, WA on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 7:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery at 205 NE 205th St. in Shoreline, WA. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association-www.alz.org.
