Meagan Anne Mullanix

Meagan Anne Mullanix entered this world on October 1, 1991, not entirely happy about leaving her comfor spot and entering the real world. But never one to ignore a challenge, she took off, and in her 25 years has made an incredible impact on the people who were fortunate to be placed in her life. Meg attended elementary school at St. Mary Magdalen in Everett, and has carried those friendships throughout her life. She then attended Olympic View Middle School, and graduated from Kamiak High School in 2010. She made her mark on the softball field and in the hearts of her fellow students, teachers, and coaches. In 2009, Meagan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and tackled it like everything else in her life, with courage, humor, and grace. She made it back to the ballfield and was able to graduate with the rest of her class. While cancer altered her path along the way, it never changed who she was or who she wanted to be. When she was well, she attended college or worked. While in treatment, she threw everything she had into getting well again. And all the time, she focused on living, loving, and celebrating every little thing in life. Meagan will forever be remembered by her compassion, goofy sense of humor, intense love and loyalty, strength, and amazing heart. She beat cancer 5 times with her tenacious spirit and unshakable faith. On July 27, 2017 she received a glimpse of Heaven and her invitation, and is now truly at home. We were honored and blessed to have been her family.She is survived by her mom and dad, Mitch and Sally Mullanix of Everett, her sister Kacey Mullanix of Seattle, her grandparents, Kathleen Searcey of Walla Walla, and Fred Searcey of Everett, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, her best canine friend, Cooper, and many devoted friends that have been in her corner for so many years.Meagan will be greeted by those that have gone before her; her grandparents Jim and Elvera Mullanix, her uncle, Thomas Searcey, and many beloved great grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. The Memorial Mass will be held at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 4900 NE 50 St. Seattle, WA, on Friday August 11 at 11 am. It is our wish that a scholarship be established in Meagans memory, and donations can be made to the Meagan Mullanix Benevolent Fund, or taken directly to the Everett BECU. Youve caught the Golden Snitch, Meagan, and have truly taught us that the ones who love us never really leave us. We will be forever grateful.
