Merle V. Bogstie

Mar 8, 1926 — Apr 28, 2010

Son of Victor and Agnes Bogstie, one of nine children. Bud left his home state of North Dakota in the late 1950s with his wife and love of his life, Bonnie. They settled in Seattle when he found work at Boeing in Renton. He worked there as an aero mechanic for more than thirty years, and was known for his exemplary dedication to the job.Bud will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him as a man of his word; quiet, considerate, and authentic. He enjoyed reading the Westerns of Zane Grey and Louis LAmour, sitting in a chair in the backyard relaxing in the sun, and the laughter of his grandchildren-sometimes all three happening simultaneously. He endured polio in childhood and deafness and blindness in his golden years but he could not overcome the cancer that ended his life with us.He is survived by: three sisters, Irene, Charlotte, and Betty Louwife, Bonnie; son, Victor and daughter-in law, Diane; son, Dan and daughter-in-law Jennet; son, John and daughter-in-law Regina; daughter, Rosemary and son-in-law Alan; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Providence Hospice team that cared for Dad in his final months. Special thanks also to all the good people of Anderson House for their compassion. Announcement: In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The March of Dimes.
