Michael James Langton

Nov 27, 1939 — Mar 20, 2017

PASS IT ONMike was a very special man. He had a great heart, a well-read mind, a beautiful singing voice and a kind countenance. He rarely, if ever, spoke ill of anyone. He was completely honest. As his friend and neighbor Reed said, Mike was a true Gentleman. Mike loved his family, my family and they loved him! He loved his kids, my kids, and had an overwhelming love for his Granddaughters. Most of you know he cooked dinner for the Granddaughters every Thursday night for years. They would come, bring a friend, bring a current boyfriend or come alone but always were here for their Granddad. He taught them special songs, helped them build forts, how to play different sports, how to parallel park and I could go on and on. He was a living example of what kindness is all about. Each of them made him so proud in so many ways. Mike loved his yard, his books and sports. He was much a loner except for family. Mike fought a long, hard battle with COPD for many years and dealt graciously with all the burdens that come with that disease. He was a fighter til the very end. For those of you who want to remember Mike in a special way, please, just pass it on. Stop at every kids lemonade stand, buy dinner for the young couple sitting beside you at a restaurant, over tip the student who is serving you at your local restaurant. And, when you pass it on, let Mike know. This is for you Mike! He will be missed. He will be remembered. He will always be loved by many.
