Michael Gregory Rounds

Sunrise-December 29, 1946 Sunset-October 17, 2011 Michael G. Rounds, age 64, passed away in his sleep on October 17, 2011, while recovering from a traumatic ATV accident that occurred on his property in Wauconda, Washington. Mike grew up in Edmonds, Washington and attended Edmonds High School. After graduation, he joined the Army and honorable served our country for three years. While in the Army he served a tour of duty in Vietnam with the 25th Infantry. When Mike came home, he began working for Metro Transit, first as a bus driver and eventually as a scheduler, and special events coordinator. Mike retired in the year 2000 and in 2002, he moved to Wauconda Washington to live his dream of building a cabin in the woods. He succeeded admirably and enjoyed his adventure for 10 years before his devastating accident on June 6, 2011. Mike is survived by his brothers and sisters: Roger Rounds and Kathy McConville of Lynnwood, Jimmy and Sue Rounds of Everett, Steven and Trina Rounds of Kent, Bud and Darleen NcCorchuk of Lynnwood, and Roberta and Marc Whitlock of Bellingham. He also leaves behind his children: Gregory Pruitt, of Edmonds, Mathew Pruitt of Edmonds, and Cindy Pruitt-Carlson of New Orleans, Louisiana. Mike was a good-hearted man, a true and trusted friend, and his generous nature, adventurous spirit, and zest for life will carry on in the hearts and minds of the people whose lives he touched. A military honors service and celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 2nd at 12:30 pm at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.
