Feb 16, 1923 — Dec 28, 2014

Mom was born during a snowstorm in Seattle on February 16, 1923, and passed away peacefully at home (Brier, WA) on December 28, 2014; a month and a half shy of 92. In the intervening years, her life was well lived with much laughter and enjoyment with family and many friends.Mom grew up in north Seattle a 1941 graduate of Roosevelt H.S. but spent weekends and summers on Camano Island. There she worked on the new Camano Island State Park when it was just being created. Mom was proud to be a native Washingtonian. When younger, she was an avid skier before there were chair lifts! She was also an accomplished artist, had a beautiful singing voice (which few people knew), and never met a card game she didnt like. Mom was able to play cards with her friend June and daughter-in-law Linda until a week before she passed.Mom married Mac McCann on September 5, 1944, and they were married for 56 years before he passed in 2000. She is survived by her four sons: Terry (Linda), Shaun, Tim and Barry (Jane); three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; and numerous cousins and other relatives.Mom was an avid sports nut especially the Dawgs, the Hawks, and her beloved Mariners dont interrupt her during a game! But since the late 30s, never warmed to the WSU Cougars!Mom loved her family, friends, and all the special friends that she had at the Mountlake Terrace Senior Center (especially Gladys). She also loved her trusty German Shepherd, Francie, who was her constant companion the past 13 years. We will have a celebration of Moms life at a later date.Youll be greatly missed Mom, and we hope your bright light and positive spirit will continue to shine down upon us all. Thanks Mom! We love you!
