Patricia Kavanagh Mccue

at McCue passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14 th in Seattle, WA with her family by her side. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 3, 1941 to Thomas and Kerstin Kavanagh. She grew up in Hastings, NY and graduated from Hastings High School. In 1962, she graduated from Penn State University. A few years later, Pat met Joe through mutual friends. After their first date together and a long, late night walk through the streets of New York City, they fell in love. Within a year, they were engaged and got married on August 6 th , 1966. They immediately moved overseas to Scotland to begin their wonderful adventure together. For the next four years, their family grew larger with the birth of their three daughters. As a family, they lived in numerous places in the U.S., in Edinburgh, Scotland and in London, England due to Joes work at Barclays Bank. Throughout her life, Pat was devoted to her family, her children and her grandchildren. She had a passion for quilting, knitting, reading, cooking and finding treasures at antiques stores and thrift shops. She made hundreds of hand-made quilts and knitted sweaters for her family, her friends and for numerous charities that supported children in need. She loved giving and this was one of the many ways she shared her love for others. at is survived by her siblings, Ken (Jan) of Perth, Australia and Susan (Robin) of Surrey, England. She leaves behind her husband of 44 years, her three daughters, Jenn, Clare (Kevin) and Amy (Wyeth) and her step-daughter, Frances. Pat cherished her 6 grandchildren: Maddy (16), Kyla (6), Seneca (6), Cartney (5), Ellie (5) and Sadie (2). They will miss her dearly. Pat did not want a traditional funeral. Instead, she wanted her immediate family to plan a simple gathering together to celebrate her life and to share memories. She never wanted the spotlight on her and always let the sun shine on others. We will all remember her for her thoughtful generosity, her care for others and her quiet, peaceful manner. She will be sorely missed by family and friends. Pat, along with the members of her quilting guild, gave numerous quilts to this charity each year.
