Peter (Petey) Bellecy

Mar 8, 1958 — Oct 22, 2026

Peter was born in Seattle to Peter and Lorraine Bellecy. He graduated from Seattle’s Lincoln High School in 1976, where he played football and became an outstanding wrestler. After graduation he attended Olympic Junior College in Bremerton on a scholarship, playing football and majoring in business. In 1980 he decided to work on a crab boat in Alaska and worked up there for two years.

In 1982 he used his business knowledge and joined his friend to co-own Northwest Ship Suppliers.

In 1985, while shopping to buy some tropical fish for his aquarium, he met the love of his life, Irene Gray. They were married in 1988.

In 1995, Peter became the sole proprietor of N.W. Duty Free Stores. He opened several Duty-Free stores in Northern Montana, Northern Idaho, Northern Washington, and Reno International Airport.

Peter and Irene traveled to New York and many countries around the world for business, and enjoyed camping in the Great Northwest, especially the Quinault region on the Washington coast. They also enjoyed their condo at Ocean Shores. Peter enjoyed coaching his three sons in youth baseball programs.

In 2020, he retired from his beloved N.W. Duty Free business and moved to a seven-acre farm where he loved working outdoors.

Peter is survived by his loving wife Irene, sons Robert, Michael, and Andrew, two brothers and their wives, Ernie (Patti) and Ronn (Dianna), and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of a funeral service the family will have a Celebration of Life.
