Rachel Irene Hansen

Rachel was born June 5, 1973 in Edmonds, Washington to Dell and Geri Hansen. She was born and raised in Edmonds and attended Medowdale High School graduating in 1991. She graduated from Washington State in 1995 with a Bachelors in sociology. In 2000 she earned a Masters in Education from Pepperdine University. Between 1997 and 2008 she held a California State Teaching Certificate. Rachel had an exhilarating personality. Her true passion was teaching children. She also enjoyed traveling and visited many countries in Europe. The high light of her life was a mission trip she took to Botswana, Africa. Due to a seizure disability, Rachel relocated back to Washington to restart her life. Her unexpected passing confirms that we truly only have today Rachel had the gift of knowing how to live to the fullest every day. She is survived by her mother, Geri; sister, Sarah, her nephew Kade King; and many, many extended family and friends. She was preceded by her son Isaiah David, her father Dell, and her Uncle Chuck. She was an active member of the Mill Creek Four Square Church where a service will be held on Saturday, May 9, at 1pm with a pot luck following.
