Raymond Celle

Jul 22, 1928 — Aug 15, 2015

Raymond V. Celle was born an only child to Louis and Louise Celle in Vancouver, BC. Rays fathers work meant following the horse racing circuit from Tijuana, Mexico to Vancouver, BC. The family later settled in Seattle. Ray married Ida and raised three children, Tarry, John and Steve. Ray retired from the Washington State Insurance Commissioners Office as an Insurance Investigator. He continued to share his insurance expertise as a volunteer for Northwestern Hospital patients. After Idas death, he married Isabelle Celle and continued with his volunteer work at Swedish Hospital in Edmonds. Ray also read to students at St. Marks School and as a devout Catholic brought communion to various nursing home patients. Rays wife of 51 years, Ida, passed in 2001. His eldest son, John, preceded Ray in death earlier this year. His second wife, Isabelle, loved and cared for Ray to the end. Survived by daughter Tarry Celle of Arizona, son Steve Celle and his wife Diana of San Diego, daughter-in-law, Pam Celle of Issaquah, six grandchildren (Tod, Michelle, Heather, Alicia, Eric and Kai), and five great grandchildren (Jarod, Lake, Lily, Alexia and Paisley). Ray will be fondly remembered for his calm and caring demeanor and quick wit. He will also be remembered as a loving husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed reading, playing games with friends and family, and helping others. We miss you!
