Reita Ann Romei

Reita Ann (Paulsen) Romei age 81, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, November 17, 2009, in Edmonds, WA. She was born in Portland, Oregon on September 21, 1928 to Warner Paulsen and Leona Silcox. She was a graduate of Holy Names Academy and attended Seattle University. Reita married Carl Francis Romei in 1951 and they enjoyed 58 years of happiness together.In 2004, Reita was diagnosed with cancer. She fought through many a treatment including a brain tumor. Always a fighter, until the end, she continued to battle cancer and Parkinsons disease. Reita is survived by her husband, Carl; sons, Christopher Romei (Carrie Merryman) and Stefan (Susan) Romei; daughter, Robin (John) Sloate; brother, Tom Paulsen; grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a large extended family and countless friends. Reita was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. A Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm followed by a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm Monday, November 23rd at Becks Funeral Home, 405 Fifth Avenue S, Edmonds (425)771-1234. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, November 25th at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Church, 630 7th Avenue N, Edmonds.
