Richard Howard Lawson

To one, a loving husband, to two, a father, to many, a wonde individual that time didnt afford the chance to fully know. To everyone, a beloved friend. Born September, 8th, 1941, Richard (Rick) Howard Lawson and his family moved to Edmonds after World War II from Illinois. He went to school in Edmonds and graduated in 1959, shortly after he made the decision to serve his country in the army during the Cold War. Rick returned from his duty and worked for Boeing for a few years and then Viacom. He ended up returning to Boeing in 1978 and retired in 1999. Come September 5th 2013, Richard (Rick) Lawson passed peacefully at Swedish Hospital and on that day joined his father, Howard W. Lawson, his brother, William C. Lawson, and his mother Faith E. Lawson in eternal peace. He was surrounded and survived by those who joined him in his journey through life. His wife of 41 years, Patricia (Aller) Lawson, his son, Steven C. Lawson, his daughter, Dawn Kverneness, his granddaughter, Danielle L. Lawson, and his sister, Faith (Lawson), Crawford and brother-in-law, Gene K. Crawford of Mesa Arizona. Nieces and nephews in California, Massachusetts, Alaska, Kansas, Iowa and Great Britain also gave their respects. Ricks house was never without fun or laughter and a popular gathering spot for friends and family alike on any occasion. His humorous demeanor always left company smiling, and left the lasting impression of a true character in our hearts. He had an artist hand for woodwork, drawing and fixing anything that he saw necessary. The mischievous twinkle in his eyes and love of life will come to mind in our thoughts of him, and will forever be missed. While hes no longer with us, the memories hes gifted his friends and family with, will be everlasting in our souls and hearts.
