Richard Dean Squibb

Richard (Rick) Dean Squibb age 67 passed away peacefully on July 14th, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. Rick was born in Seattle, WA on August 16, 1952 the son of Norene and Earl. Rick was considered by all a dedicated father, he treasured his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. He welcomed every new member of the family as precious miracles. He had a lively personality and a knack for making those around him laugh. Rick lived in the Pacific Northwest for his entire life. He grew up in Edmonds, and briefly attended Marymount Academy in Tacoma where he developed his admiration for the United States Armed Forces. He had a deep love for the outdoors and especially looked forward to his hunting trips with his dad and close friends in the Okanogan region of Washington. The stories from those trips would be told for many years to follow. Before his illnesses Rick was a skilled and passionate skier. He especially enjoyed his many outings to Stevens Pass as a member of the Penguin Ski Club and his twice-yearly trips to Whistler. He was instrumental in passing his devotion to skiing on to his wife, kids, and grandkids. Rick spent much of his career working for Boeing at the Everett plant where he developed a deep interest in the aviation industry. After retiring from Boeing many of his long-standing health issues kept him closer to home where he could be found in his garage working on his (always growing) list of home improvement projects. He later developed an enthusiasm for wood working and collecting tools. Rick will be forever missed by his wife Alicia, three children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
