ROBERT L. STASNY was born November 1, 1945 and passed away suddenly and peacefully of natural causes on April 19, 2011. He grew up in West Seattle, and graduated from West Seattle HS in 1963. He was an excnal athlete. He played football for West Seattle High School, swam for Central Washington University and rowed Greenlake Crew. Robert set state records in swimming that were not broken for decades. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve as a Seabee during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged after completing his service to our country.Robert earned a Masters from the University of Washington School of Architecture. From 1975 to 1985, Robert worked as a professional architect for a number of engineering and design firms in Seattle. From 1985 to present, he was employed by his own company, The Stasny Architects. He ran his company out of his home in the Wedgwood community. He was a very talented and well respected architect that received many awards over the years including a Seattle Times AIA Home of the Month in 1983. A proud and loving father, Robert is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Bette Stasny of Seattle, brother Frank Stasny of Camano, brother John Stasny (Margaret) Silverdale, and his four children, Alexander E. Stasny (Jennifer) of Colorado, Kathryn A. Wells (Lyle) of Georgia, Charles E. Stasny and Karolyn A. Stasny. His grandchildren are: Annejolie Allize Stasny, Ulrik, Isabelle, Savina Wells. Roberts warm smile, gentle way, overwhelming generosity, simple kindness, and unforget sense of humor will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice in his memory.
