Ronald Valenzuela

Ronald Dean Valenzuela, age 69, passed away on July 23, 2026, in Edmonds, Washington.

Ron was born on May 1, 1957, in Santa Barbara, California, to the late Alfred and Marian Valenzuela.

Ron spent his life working hard, always with a quick wit and an incredible sense of humor. He began working in drywall alongside his father, Alfred, and his brother, Paul, at a young age. He later dedicated 25 years of service to the Mountlake Terrace Police Department before spending nearly 30 more years at the Federal Courthouse in Seattle.

More than anything, Ron loved his family and friends. He was a loving husband, an amazing father, and a loyal friend who could always be counted on. He had a gift for making people laugh and could light up a room with his humor and larger-than-life personality. Ron especially loved sharing stories from his years as a police officer, and his unforgettable police stories could make anyone burst into laughter. Even in his final days, he continued to bring smiles and laughter to those around him.

Ron also took great pride in researching his family history and spent years carefully piecing together his family tree. It was something that meant a great deal to him, and thankfully, he was able to complete and perfect it—a lasting gift of his family’s history that can now be treasured and passed down for generations to come.

When Ron had time away from work, he loved getting away on camping trips in the RV and enjoying the outdoors. Of all the places he traveled, Pacific City, Oregon, held an especially meaningful place in his heart. It was truly his happy place—a place where he could relax, enjoy the beauty of the Oregon coast, and spend time making memories with the people he loved. Those RV trips, especially the ones to Pacific City, became some of the special memories his family will always hold close.

Ron leaves behind his loving wife, Kim, and his daughter, Sarah Valenzuela. From the Valenzuela family, he is survived by his brother, Paul, and his two sisters, Roxane and Paula, along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Ron’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. While he will be deeply missed every day, we find comfort in knowing he is now at peace with his Heavenly Father, reunited with his parents, cherished friends, and the beloved animals he loved and missed throughout his life.

Ron will be remembered for the way he loved his family, his years of dedicated service, his kindness, his unforgettable stories, and above all, his ability to make people laugh. The memories, lessons, adventures, and laughter he gave us will remain with us always.
