Roy Chris Perovich

Roy was born in Seattle August 17, 1922 to Kristo and Anna Perovich and went quietly to the Lord on 3/28/14. He was preceded in death by his brother William and the love of his life, his former wife Norma. He is survived by his sister Olga Tarabocia, his brothers Milo Perovich (Shari), Robert Perovich (Pat), his daughters Leanne Shelton (Steve), Lori Thompson (Brent), Grandchildren Matthew Shelton (Jennifer), Marcus Shelton (Tiffany), Kathereen Cox (James) and William Cox, and great grandchildren Blake, Braeden, Caleb, and nieces and nephews. Roy lived a life full of many adventures and professions. He owned Perovich Brothers fuel with his brother William, owned Wheelers Tavern, and was a Teamster and a Longshoreman. He went to many Super Bowls, World Series games, fished, and traveled the world. In his later years he traveled to his parents homes in Montenegro several times, reuniting with cousins and leaving a legacy of relationships for his family. A true character, Roy was a fixture at the Pike Place Market and had a special fondness for the fish market folks. He spent many days having coffee and lunches with Harry and the guys. He spent the last year of his life at Anderson House. The family is grateful to the staff and residents and his loyal friends who stuck with him in his last year. Roy spent his last 4 days at Evergreen Hospice. The family is very grateful for their tender care. The family would also like to express our gratitude to Dr. Werner Sampson for a lifetime of extraordinary care and Dr. James Bowers for his care as Roys life was ending. Roy asked Jesus into his heart in his last weeks, like the thief on the cross. As Nikola Perovich said he was not an ordinary man. Roys remains were laid to rest at Lake View Cemetery in Seattle at a private ceremony. A celebration of his life will be held at a date to be announced.
