Ruth Paula (Capone, Moon) Gilbert age 75 went to be with our Lord on Monday, August 27, 2012 in Lynwood, WA. She was born on January 7, 1937 in Boston Massachusetts and raised in Cohasset, MA. After graduating from Cohasset High School in 1956, she became a member of the retail clerks union as a cashier at the local A and continued as a retail clerk throughout her adult life. Ruth married Dennis E. Moon (deceased) in 1964 living in Seattle until 1972. The family moved to Blaine, WA where Ruth and her family settled there for many years, raising four children. She married Gene Gilbert (deceased) in 1993. Ruth and Gene enjoyed splitting their time between living in Bellingham, WA and their place in Yuma AZ. Ruth was an avid collector of antiques and colorful glassware. She was a wonderful, supportive and involved mother, loving grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Ava Goodman and her husband Glenn of Anchorage, AK, son Jay Moon of Blaine Washington, and ex daughter-in-law Debi Moon of Spokane, Jill Moon and her fianc Jesse Navarro of Lynwood, WA, granddaughters Tazia Moon and Danei Moon of Spokane, WA, grandson Grant Goodman of Anchorage, AK and Northfield, VT, and great grandson Carter Moon of Spokane, WA. Ruth was preceded in death by her son Dean Moon and her brother Timothy Capone. No services will be held at the request of the deceased, and her ashes will be spread in Birch Bay, Washington at a time when her entire family can come together at a later date. Announcement: Memorial contributions may be made in the deceaseds name to either of the following charities: Alzheimers Association of Western and Central Washington State: North Tower, 100 W Harrison Street, N200, Seattle, WA 98119, or Puget Sound Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®: 112 Fifth Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109.
