Sandra E. Appel , 80, died at Harborview Medical Center on August 12, 2021 as a result of hypertensive cardiovascular disease and stroke. Sandra graduated from Holy Family Academy in Bayonne in 1958. She is a graduate of Mountainside School of Nursing and holds a BA and MA from Jersey City State College in New Jersey. In 1994 she earned a Doctor of Education from New York University. During her career she taught in the Union County School District and Kean University was an RN at Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ. Sandra and her husband moved to Lynnwood, WA in 2006 after living in Scotch Plains, NJ for over 20 years. Sandra was a member of the Mountainside School of Nursing Alumni Association, the Holy Rosary Church Book Group and there Austria Club of Washington. She leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Walter, son Matthew, daughter in law Katie, granddaughter Charlotte and grandson Henry and sister Constance Marsh and brother-in-law Philip Marsh of Red Hook, NY. A memorial Mass will be held in September at Holy Rosary Church in Edmonds. Donations in her memory may be made to Holy Rosary School, 770 Aloha St., Edmonds, WA 98020.
