Stanley Julian Hovik

Stanley Julian Hovik passed peacefully in his home with his family by his side, Oct. 30, 2014.Stan was born in Seattle to Saras and Jenny Hovik. He grew up in Ballard and graduated from Ballard High School, class of 1946.On December 9, 1950, Stan married the love of his life, Doris Sater. Together they raised four children and had a wonde life together full of love and family.Stan followed in his fathers footsteps and made his living as a commercial fisherman. He was a pioneer in the fishing industry.Stan is survived by his wife Doris, his sons Jim and wife Cheri, Scott and wife Sharron, daughters Randi and husband Glen, and Greta and her husband David; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sister Ann Hovik and niece, Kirsten Johnson.Stan was a very kind, loving, generous man who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed his morning coffee with his buddies at the coffee shop in Ballard. He loved his working years fishing and the life-long friends he made throughout the years in the business.A Celebration of Stans life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196 Street SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036 on Friday, November 21 at 11 a.m.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Fishermans Memorial Fund, P.O.
