Suzanne Mary Weeks
Aug 3, 1965 — Jul 9, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Suzanne Mary Weeks (Waterman) Thursday July 9, 2026. Her wonderful husband Jeff was there to guide her peacefully into our Lord’s arms, as he whispered the words she most needed to hear, “you can let go”.
She was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Emilie Waterman, and is leaving behind her loving husband Jeff, her daughters Brittany Blake and Adreanna McCall (Tyler), her precious granddaughter little Adelaide, and Jeff’s boys Robert and Ryan. She will be dearly missed as well by her sister Nancy Dahlberg (Steve) and her brother Eric Waterman (Michaela), many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Born August 3, 1965 she moved with her family from New York to Seattle when she was four years old. She grew up in Shoreline, WA and graduated from Shorecrest High School. Suzanne proudly served our country in the United States Army where she became a Drill Instructor as well as one of only 5 women out of a group of 500 to earn her jump wings in the Airborne Division. She continued in civilian life to attain a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Washington and then to serve a ten-year career with the Seattle Police department in the Parking Enforcement Department. In this capacity she earned a “Save a Life” Award from the Mayor of Seattle in recognition of her bravery in providing CPR to a man she found unconscious while on duty.
She was naturally gifted in the visual arts and particularly enjoyed this talent while recovering from her illness. She was extraordinarily physically tough, strong and fearless. She loved fiercely, and gave her all in everything she did. Above all, Suzanne will be remembered for the love she gave so freely. Her warmth, compassion, resilience, and generous spirit touched countless lives, and the memories she created with family and friends will be cherished forever.
As we say goodbye to our girl, Suzanne, we choose to focus on the joys, miracles, and light that have been brought into her life since her diagnosis of lung/brain cancer almost 4 years ago. Her family is deeply grateful for the exceptional compassion and care provided by the staff at St. Michael Medical Center throughout her cancer journey. She ran a good race and chose to “Carry On” over and over again. Ultimately, she IS her Father’s daughter!
We’ll gather Wednesday, July 22, 2026 for a Funeral Mass at St. Mark Catholic Church in Shoreline, WA at 11am then follow with her burial at Holyrood Cemetery also located in Shoreline at 1pm.
