Sylvia Carlson Reddie

Sylvia Carlson Reddie was born in Crooks, Iowa, to Emil and Tessie Carlson. Sylvia graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1942. She worked at Boeing and the US Forsest Service from 1944-1947, then returned to Iowa to be with family. In 1954, while working for the AEC she met and married John Reddie. While raising a family and being very active in organizations such as the PTA, she graduated from Shoreline Community College and earned a BA in accounting from the University of Washington. Sylvia co-founded Cakes Etc. and, after retiring from her accounting career, she opened the Antique City BB in Iowa.Sylvia is survived by sons Kirk Reddie and Bill Reddie, and daughter Elaine Raschkow; grandchildren Clinton Reddie, Max Reddie, Phillip Raschkow and Amanda Raschkow; sister Joan Stumpf and sisters-in-law Virginia Reddie, Lillian Carlson, and Alberta Carlson; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband John Reddie and brothers Dean, Raymond, and Kenneth Carlson.Sylvia will live in our memories and we will miss her very much. No public services will be held.
