Teddi Jo Blaylock
Feb 15, 1950 — Feb 22, 2021
Teddi Jo Blaylock passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021 one week after her 71st birthday. Born February 15, 1950 in Grand Rapids, MI she moved with her family to Albuquerque, NM in the early 1960’s. Graduated from West Mesa high school in Albuquerque June 1966. At age 19 she became a member of Calvary Pentecostal church in Albuquerque where she was to meet her future husband. She married Gary O Blaylock on August 21, 1976 and then moved with him to Stockton, CA while he studied Theology at Western Apostolic Bible College. Upon graduation they moved to Everett, WA to become Assistant Pastors at Everett United Pentecostal Church. While in Everett Gaylene Marie (Plante) was born June 30, 1979. In May of 1981 Teddi had a brain aneurism burst while pregnant with Daniel Oliver who was born February 7, 1982. Teddi has always been a fighter and with her faith in Jesus would go on to help Gary establish a new church plant in Shoreline, WA in January of 1983. After many years in Shoreline the church purchased a building on the corner of 236th & 56th in Mountlake Terrace, WA. In April of 2016, the church then purchased a new building and moved into the new facilities in Lynnwood, WA February of 2017 where she continued to serve alongside her husband. Throughout her life Teddi faced many health obstacles but none of them would keep her from serving God and supporting her husband building the church. Teddi was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother & pastor’s wife. Her zeal in life was teaching children and working with the children’s ministries. Teddi drove a church bus picking up kids for Sunday School and taught in Children’s Church for over 40 years. She would go out of her way to help others and she will forever be known as the Card Lady to hundreds of people as over the last 45 years she sent out 10’s of thousands of cards of encouragement, comfort, and celebration to people; even while vacationing at their favorite destination in Orlando sending dozens of cards was at the top of the list of must-dos. Throughout the years there were various physical issues she battled but refused to let it dim her care and concern for others. Most of her friends and family will tell you she is the strongest woman they have known. Teddi loved her family with all her heart and was the big sister that helped all her brothers and sisters with both wanted and unwanted advice. She adored her two children Gaylene and Daniel, and was quick to adopt two more as Wade (Plante) and Lisa (Blaylock) married into the family. One of her life’s greatest dreams came true later in life when she became a grandma to Roman, Genesis, Jonathan, EvaRee (Plante) and Carter Blaylock. The fridge was always stocked with all kinds of extra goodies in off-chance some kid or grandkid might drop by. Her genuine love for everyone was never questioned as she loved everyone so fully and sincerely. Teddi is survived by her husband Gary of 45 years; her daughter Gaylene (Wade) Plante and son Daniel (Lisa); and 5 grandchildren Roman, Genesis, Jonathan, EvaRee (Plante) and Carter Blaylock. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 8th at 11 AM at Gold Creek Community Church at 4326 148th St SW Mill Creek, WA.
