Thomas Howard Wilson

February 22, 1944 — January 11, 2021

Thomas Howard Wilson passed away peacefully on January 11, 2021 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Aberdeen Washington and was raised in Hoquiam. After graduating from Hoquiam High School he obtained a B.A. in English and teaching certificate from Western Washington University. After his graduation, he had the good luck to meet his future wife Taffi in 1968. It wasn’t long after that they were married, they had two boys, Christopher and John. He taught 5th grade for 26 years at Brier Elementary School. He was well liked by his students and respected by his peers during his time there. After retiring from teaching, he found his next calling in life at the Woodinville winery, Chateau St. Michelle. He started as general help and became heavily involved in the tasting room and wine tours. He absorbed all of the facts and knowledge of wine making and wine education. It became a passion for him in his life. After slowing down at the winery, Tom and Taffi took time to travel the world. As a history buff, Tom enjoyed seeing the sights all over Europe that he had read about and studied for years. They had many adventures and made friends wherever they went. Tom and Taffi were gracious hosts, and they hosted family dinners every Sunday for their immediate family and friends. Tom especially loved those Sundays sharing his passion for life, wine and family. Tom is survived by his wife, Taffi of 52 years; his son, Chris and his son, Gavin; son, John; sister, Jean Dolby (Tim) and their children, Jennifer Fredrickson (Justin), and Ryan Dolby (Brandon, Molly and Megan); sister, Betsy House (Jim); nephew Patrick Mulvihill (Kirstie) and their children (Madelyn and Neil); as well as many close family friends that were like family to him.
