Virginia C. Specht, 87 of Edmonds, passed away peacefully into her Fathers arms.Born in Spokane, WA, she moved to Edmonds in 1932 with her family. At age 14, she worked in the observation tower during WWII. Graduated from Edmonds High School in 1948. She worked at Swansons Pharmacy at the soda fountain where she served her soon to become husband, Frederick Specht. After graduation she worked in her fathers store McGinness Pharmacy on 5 and Main until starting her own family in 1950.She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Frederick D. Spect; and was the mother of Susan Nelson (Ed), Karen Crump (Eric), Rick Specht (Schrelle), Jana Loewen (Mark); grandmother to Angie Cook (Paul), Amy Thomas (Scott), Ashley Echelbarger (Tyler), Justin Crump (Kate), Jordan Crump (Chelsea), Jacob Specht, Madelyn Reiff (Alex), Andrew Loewen, Collin Loewen; and great grandmother to Cameron, Jillian Cook, Kaden, Emery Thomas, Jenkins, Saylor, Nash Echelbarger, and Frederick Crump.A private family graveside was held at Acacia Memorial Park in Seattle.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite cancer society.
