Adeline "Dodo" Smigiel

"Granby - Adeline "DoDo" Smigiel, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 16, 2017. Born May 18, 1929 in Holyoke, MA, daughter of George and Helen (Stzback) Lindsey. Adeline worked as a Home Health Aide for Holyoke VNA for many years. Adeline loved to sing and dance and enjoyed quiet moments on her back deck. She enjoyed various outdoor activities including fishing and mushroom picking. Above all she loved telling stories to anyone who would listen. She will be deeply missed by three sons, Daniel and his wife Cindy, Ted and his wife Lisa and Ronald and his wife Phyllis all of Granby. She is also survived by a brother, Theodore Lindsey of Chicopee; six grandchildren, Nickolas, Shawn, Joshua, Stacy, Jason and Aaron; 4 great grandchildren Tyler, Gabrielle, Savanah and Caleb and many nieces and nephews. Adeline was predeceased by husband Joseph Smigiel and her son Joseph Smigiel. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Loomis House & Holyoke VNA Hospice for their care and compassion. Services will be held at Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, November 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the West Cemetery in Granby. Calling hours will be Monday, November 20, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home.
