Agnes Samson

"Belchertown Agnes J. (Neilon) Samson, 93, formerly of Jackson St., died Sunday, March 14 at Wingate at South Hadley. Born in Holyoke, September 9, 1916, she was the daughter of Michael and Margaret (Young) Neilon. She lived in Belchertown since 1941 and was the Assistant Treasurer at the former Belchertown State School for 30 years before retiring. She was a longtime volunteer at the election polls. Besides her parents, her husband Harvey preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Michael H. Samson of Cocoa, FL, and her daughter Mary Handzel of Evergreen, CO, along with 4 grandchildren Carla Potts, Michael J. Samson, James Handzel, Jr., and Dr. Charleen Handzel. She also leaves 4 great grandchildren, Avery Orzech, Caitlin Potts, Kaleigh and Cody Samson. All services are private and have been entrusted to the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home.
