"Arthur Charles Lincoln Jr Born August 13, 1932 Died January 21, 2018 Charles lived a long and a full life. He was born and raised in Thorndike, MA and although he was an intensely solitary man he surrounded himself with family and friends, and led through example. His life journey took him to UMass @ Amherst, US Army – Germany and Fort Ord, Syracuse University for his PhD in Forestry and Entomology. Delaware, OH where he was a research leader at the USDA Laboratory on Main Rd, Palatine, IL followed by Swampscott, MA where he took a positions with the EPA as Chief of Pesticides and Toxic Substances. Upon retirement from the EPA he spent several years exploring with his sailboat, jungle excursions to Belize, or wherever his conversion van would take him. About 12 years ago he settled in Kennesaw, GA where he liked spending time with family, doing volunteer work with the local Bonsai Club, socializing at the Senior Center, and hiking the many trails around his home. He was a son, a sibling, a husband, a father of seven, an uncle, grandfather, and a great-grand-father. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents – Arthur and Julia Lincoln, Thorndike, MA. He leaves behind three sisters, Joan Carney (Leo Carney Deceased) South Hadley, MA, Teresa & Al Murray, Ware, MA, and Mary and Paul Gibbons, Duxbury, MA. and his seven children, Michael Lincoln – Chicopee, MA, Danny Lincoln and wife Karen, Lake Villa, IL their children Katie Lincoln, Matt Lincoln, Sarah Sprenzel, and great-grand-daughter Elliana Sprenzel. Timmy Lincoln and his wife Laura Mudd Miami, FL and their Children Gabe and Angelina, Bryan Lincoln, North Port, Florida, Patrick Lincoln and wife Kathy, Sarasota, FL., Kathleen Miera, Las Vegas Nevada, her children Randy Greenhouse, Kris Greenhouse and Danielle Miera and Chrissy Murphy, her husband Chris, Marietta, GA and their children, Ryan and Sydney Murphy. In a full life of exemplary achievements Charlie’s multi-year struggle with end-of-life medical challenges was yet another instance of his leading by actions and not words. He was positive, courageous, tenacious and completely focused on regaining his health - so that he could spend more time with family and friends. Charlie was loved and will be greatly missed. He fought a hard battle and kept a smile till the end. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 2nd form 5:00-7:00 p.m. a the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home between 10-10:15 a.m. or meet directly at the church.
