Barbara Ellen Kakley

"Ludlow-Barbara E. (DeFalco) Kakley, 91, passed away June 23, 2016 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Born in Springfield on September 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Anthony DeFalco and Winifred (Norton) Ames. Barbara was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church in Ludlow. She took much enjoyment in reading, watching movies, and playing Bingo. Barbara was a wonderful cook and baker and would never let her grandchildren leave without cookies to take home. She loved traveling to Maine with her late husband, Michael J. Kakley, Jr., who passed in 1997. Barbara will be dearly missed by her four daughters, Patricia McConaha, Eileen Kakley, Barbara (Bonnie) Kakley, and Susan Kakley and her husband Frank Lomanno; her 10 dear grandchildren, Colleen , Michael, Jeffrey, James, Matthew, Jared, Kara, Alyssa, Ethan, and Felice; her 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She also leaves her sister, Theresa Weston and her husband Richard; two nieces, Cheryl Canterbury and Debbie Wood; nephew, David Weston; several cousins; and all her friends at Keystone Commons. Besides her husband, Barbara was predeceased by her brother, James G. DeFalco in 1975. Visitation will be held Monday, June 27th from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St, Palmer with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. in St. Elizabeth's Parish, 181 Hubbard St, Ludlow.
