Barbara Lee

" Barbara (Cooke) Lee, 57, passed away August 1, 2007 on Cape Cod, a place where she enjoyed times with her family, after a brave nine month battle with cancer. Born February 3, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio, she is the daughter of David and Audrey (Ford) Cooke of North Carolina. Barbara was a resident of Belchertown for the past 20 years. She was an employee of the Belchertown Recreation Department for many years. Barbara loved the color purple, the beaches of Cape Cod, and most of all life. She will be deeply and sadly missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her. She leaves behind her best friend and loving husband Charles Lee, beloved son, Cody Taylor of whom she was so proud, her youngest child, Stuart Lee, who was forever her baby, her eldest child and only daughter Samantha Taylor and her grandson Evan James Taylor. Barbara spent the last five weeks of her life at home with Evan, which were the first five weeks of his. Besides her parents, she also leaves a brother Sam Cooke and his wife Karen of PA and a sister Joan Snead and her husband Parker of NY. Also her special “angel friend” of over 35 years, Ruth Keller. She also leaves many more close friends who touched her life as much as she touched theirs. A Remembrance service will be Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Connection, 269 Locust St., Florence, MA"
