Brad M. Richardson
June 30, 1981 — December 3, 2025
It is with immeasurable sadness that we announce the passing of Brad M. Richardson, a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished son and brother, and loyal friend, who left this earthly life on December 3, 2025, at the age of 44. Born in Ware and raised in Monson, Brad later built his life and family in Belchertown, MA. He earned his business degree from UMass Amherst, and in 2006 began a career with Amtrak as a locomotive engineer, a position he remained devoted to for more than 20 years, always showing up and working hard for his family.
Brad’s life was forever enriched when he and Sara (Corbin) Richardson began dating in 2010. They shared an all-too-short but beautiful 11-year marriage, and their sons, Oliver and Eli, were the absolute light of his life. He loved dirt biking, mountain biking, hiking, and reading. He also treasured family bike rides, watching his boys play sports, and vacations shared with Sara, their boys, and his parents. Along with his wife and sons, Brad is survived by his parents, Robert “Bob” and Pamela “Pam” Richardson, and his siblings, Chad Richardson and Kim Morin, and a large extended family who loved him dearly.
Brad and Sara also shared the deeply demanding responsibility of caring for two children living with Type 1 Diabetes, an autoimmune condition that shaped their daily life. They met this reality with strength, teamwork, and unwavering devotion to their boys’ well-being. His love will forever surround all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
Calling hours in honor of Brad will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St., Belchertown, MA. A private service will be held for the family.
