Bruce K Bannister

"South Hadley - Bruce K. Bannister, 65, passed away on December 28, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born December 15, 1952 in Holyoke, MA, son of the late Dorothy Bannister. Bruce proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Civil War history buff, and a member of the 10th Mass. Civil War Reenactment Color Guard. He loved watching the History Channel, traveling, being a reenactor, and reading, and spent many hours at Barnes and Noble. He was a life long Patriots fan and loved watching football, but what he loved most was spending time with both of his granddaughters. Bruce worked in quality control for Sonoco Products in Holyoke for 34 years and was an active member of the Pioneer Valley Church of Christ in Chicopee. He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 43 years, Janet (Beaudry) Bannister of South Hadley, his two children Tanya Reynolds and husband Steven of Springfield and Jason Bannister of S. Hadley. He also leaves his beloved granddaughters Brittani Cundiff and Faith Bannister, both of Chicopee. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 4:00-6:30 p.m at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home followed by a service at 6:30 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society."
