Catherine A Maher

"Monson - Catherine A. (Meehan) Maher, 90, passed away surrounded by her family on January 10, 2018. Born January 16, 1927 in Bronx, NY, daughter of Francis and Margaret (Carroll) Meehan. She was raised in the Bronx, and lived for many years in Hauppauge, Long Island, NY. She moved to Monson in 1969 and was communicant of St. Patrick's Church. She retired from Spencer Savings Bank in Warren as a Bank Manager after working for 20 years. Catherine was an avid New York Mets fan. She enjoyed reading and Saturday shopping trips to the mall. Above all, Catherine was a dedicated wife, loving mother and grandmother and she will be sadley missed by her family. She will be deeply missed by five children, Stephen Maher of Bondsville, Gregory Maher (Donna) of Aurora, IL, Nancy Coley (Jamie) of Ludlow, James Maher, Jr. (Andrea) of Holden and Christine Scibelli (Donald) of Monson. She also leaves her beloved twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren who will forever cherish memories at "Gram's Resort". Catherine was preceded in death by her husband James A. Maher. Calling hours will be Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Friends and family may gather at 9 a.m. Monday to process to St. Patrick's Church for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made in her memory to Baystate Home Health and Hospice Services, 280 Chestnut St., Spfld, MA 01199."
