Daniel Joseph Mccarthy

"Daniel J. McCarthy, 36, of Buckland Street, died in an automobile accident in Townsend, Friday, September 26. Born in Worcester, September 22, 1972, he was the son of Daniel J. McCarthy of Worcester, and the late Roberta (Strom) Krals. Dan grew up and lived in Worcester until moving to Palmer in 1996. He was a graduate of American International College in Springfield and was most recently employed as a cabinetmaker for Van Millwork in Fitchburg. He had previously worked for Woodmeister Corporation in Worcester. An avid sports fan, he cheered loudly for all Patriots and Red Sox games, but his special dedication was as a Palmer Youth Baseball coach, and as the most energetic fan at all sports' events played by his son and nephews. Besides his father, his "larger than life" presence and pure heart will be deeply missed by his wife Jennifer (Noonan) McCarthy, his precious son, Ryan, his brother Kenneth Krals of Worcester, his 5 sisters Deborah Morgan and her husband Paul, of Oxford, Brenda Pastor and her husband Bob of Rutland, Cynthia Krals of Grafton, Tina Barnhill and her husband Daryn of Georgia, Tracy Greene and her husband Kevin of Worcester, and Dawn Light and her husband Danny of Sutton. He also leaves four beloved brothers-in laws and sisters-in-laws, several nieces and nephews, as well as other extended family members and countless friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, October 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Congregational Church, 1080 Pleasant St., Palmer, followed by burial in Oak Knoll Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, September 30 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., (Rte. 20).
