Daniel E. Phaneuf

"Daniel E. Phaneuf, 68, of Franklin St., died peacefully Saturday, December 25th. Born in Ludlow, September 3rd, 1942, he was the son of Edmond and Helen (Thompson) Phaneuf. A longtime resident of Belchertown, he also enjoyed spending time on the Cape and in Florida. He will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend of 47 years, Beverly (Bock) Phaneuf along with his two children, son Brett and his wife Sandy of Marshfield and daughter Lauren Rahill and her husband Tom of Windermere, Fl. He also leaves four teenage grandchildren, Matthew and Michelle Phaneuf and Thomas and Erin Rahill. Dan served in the Navy for 5 years during which time he and Bev had their two children. He had a passion for horses and riding and enjoyed working around the farm, walking the beach and playing with their dachshunds. He and Bev enjoyed many trips to Bermuda and travels to Alaska, the Caribbean and the National Parks out West. Professionally, Dan spent 38 years with Cumberland Farms, most recently as Senior VP of their retail operations. He retired in 2007. A PRIVATE service to celebrate his life will be held at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home.
