Dennis Frank Henchey

"Belchertown-Dennis Frank Henchey,66, of Belchertown, MA, passed away at home on Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was born in Northampton, MA, in January, 1952 to the late Normand E. and Francine M. (Récher) Henchey. Graduating from Northampton High School in 1969, Dennis went on to receive degrees in sociology and psychology from Holyoke Community College and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He was a social worker and child advocate for many years and became an administrator at the Belchertown State School. Most recently he worked at Walmart, retiring in 2017. He was an avid reader and conversationalist. He is survived by his sisters, Jacqueline N. Colby, Debra N. Martin and Linda Henchey and two nieces. He was predeceased by his older brother A. Michael Henchey. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 29th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. at Beers and Storey Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St., Belchertown.
