Donna "Cote" Major

"Donna Cote Major, 62, passed away with the love of her family surrounding her at her home on November 3, 2019. She was born on November 12, 1956 in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of Arthur Cote Jr. and Anna (Marocchini) Cote. Donna grew up in Enfield, CT and graduated from Fermi High School in 1974. She worked as an LPN in multiple settings in CT and MA. The compassion and care that she provided to her patients through the years was a testament to the warm, caring person that Donna was. In 1995, Donna moved to Granby, MA with her husband and two children, but continued to share her pride for CT and to visit the Cote family dinners on Sundays. Donna was very artistic and curious. She enjoyed painting along with reading about history, and exploring different historical sites. She also loved sharing these passions with her friends and family. Besides her husband, Michael, of almost 33 years, Donna will be missed by her children, Amanda Major of Foxborough, MA and Jonathan Major and his husband, Alec Beaulieu of Dracut, MA. She also leaves her dear siblings, Arthur Cote III and his wife Donna of Enfield, Andrew Cote and his wife Vandeth of Enfield, along with brother-in-law, Richard Kirschbaum of Granby, CT, and her nieces and nephews. Donna's love was shared with Michael's family as well; Roland and Lauria Major of Springfield, MA, Brian and Cheryl Major of Granby, MA, and Judy Sroka of Westfield, MA. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her only sister, Marie Kirschbaum in 2016. The family will receive friends at Beers & Story Funeral Homes, South Hadley on November 7, 2019 from 11:00AM - 2:00PM. A procession and graveside service will follow at West Cemetery in Granby. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society."
