Doris Nally

"South Hadley -Doris Catherine Nally, age 86, just one month shy of her 87th birthday, died at her daughter's home in Montgomery, MA, surrounded by family, on Sunday June 1, 2014. The daughter of the late John E. and Lena M. (Fortier) Blanchard, she was born July 1, 1927 in Holyoke, MA. She was affectionately called "Doe" by all who knew and loved her. She attended South Hadley High School. She leaves her husband of 61 years, Robert P. Nally of South Hadley, MA; a son Steven R. Nally and his wife Jeannette of Granby, MA, three daughters: Holly M. Gagnon and her husband Gerald of Southampton, MA; Robbin M. Giroux and her husband Robert of Montgomery, MA; and Jaye A. Peltier and her husband John of South Hadley, MA; her dear sister, Joan Quenneville of South Hadley; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Doe was predeceased by two brothers, John and Lincoln, by three sisters, Ruth, Rita, and Pearl and two grandchildren. She was eternally grateful of the care given to her by her children in her final days. A Mass of Celebration of Life will be held at St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley on Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements and calling hours are omitted. Because of Doe's love of animals, memorial contributions may be made to the Westfield Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers."
