Edward W. Hurley

"Palmer - Edward William Hurley, 61, of French Dr. passed away June 9, 2014 at Heywood Hospital. Born February 11, 1953 in Springfield, he was the son of William E. Hurley Jr. and Eileen E. (Rodeen). Living in Palmer for all of his life, Eddie worked in the Palmer Schools as a janitor as well as at the former Belchertown State School. He went on to went on to be a caregiver at CHD in Springfield for almost 14 years. Ed loved tennis and skiing in his leisure. He will be greatly missed by his friend and caregiver, Daniel Pike, along with his siblings, Cindy Roberts and her husband Wally, William Byrnes and his wife Gloria, Robert Byrnes and his wife Patricia, Nancy Tetrault and her husband Francis, Michael Hurley Sr. and his wife Lisa, Shawn Hurley and his wife Darlene, Teresa Hurley-Wallace and her husband Lawrence along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Timothy Hurley. A graveside service will be held August 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Cemetery. A gathering will be held at St. Joe's Hall in Thorndike following the services. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Parkinson's Association."
